At Last: The Obama’s First Dance
Originally, I was a little bit mocking of the fact that Beyonce got the honor of singing the song for President and First Lady Obama’s first dance at the Inaugural Ball last night—but that woman brought it. Above, the first couple dances to Etta James’ “At Last” and Barack even throws in a twirl or two. Amazing.

I felt like I was watching a wedding when they were dancing. I had no clue this first dance tradition applied to the prez. and that Beyonce—got to love her. I love that she said the new pres. made her want to be smarter in an interview after.

The Obama’s are such an awesome couple, I am so inspired by them- we all should be. They seem to be equal partners, super supportive and respectful of one another, and so darn in love! I can only hope to find someone to have such a fulfilling life with. I cry every time I see this video replayed.
I also grumbled about Beyonce, even though I like her I didn’t feel she was worthy of that song. I was so wrong! She did a spectacular job and I loved when she got emotional at the end- she clearly understood the importance of what she was involved in. Her interview after was great- you can see what an inspiration the Obama’s are for even the richest and most famous of Americans.

I cry at absolutely everything, and sobbed through election night (in a good way) but yesterday not one tear was shed—until I saw the tears in Beyonce’s eyes. I don’t know if it was the day sinking in, or the song, or knowing that Beyonce is a super private person (what husband? where?) whose emotions were too strong to hide, but damn, that set off my waterworks.

As moving and beautiful as the ‘first dance’ was…was I the only one who noticed that you could see Beyonce’s nips through her dress? I know if I was singing an epically important song on national television, I would make sure that you couldn’t see my girls when the spotlight was on me. Mayhaps it was just a shadow. Or shadows
