Agent Provacateur vs. Victoria's Secret table

Now that fancy British underwear brand Agent Provocateur is invading New York Fashion Week, we’re going to have to pick our allegiances: Is your loyalty to American mainstay Victoria’s Secret or Agent Provocateur, home to all things even vaguely kinky? Here are a few points to consider as you choose sides…

Whatever.  I can be plenty kinky without shelling out $340 for a kinky red lace corset that looks like it came from Fredericks of Hollywood.  Thanks, Agent Bourgeousie.

I’m totally a VS girl. Simple yet sexy.  I don’t need all those frills and lace and whips to be provocative or even kinky.

I’d be much more of an Agent Provocateur girl if I could afford to blow hundreds of dollars on undies. I’m saying this even as a lingerie lover.

Neither.  VS thinks I don’t exist, and AP thinks that if I do exist, I must be pregnant.

I love both. I love Agent Provocateur, but I can’t always afford it. However, I absolutely love La Perla. So amazing and very soft.

I’ve always bought VS but I wish I could afford AP. I buy a lot of Coquette (http://www.yandy.com/coquette.php) if I want something racy like AP but I got to VS for regular bras and things…

I don’t get how some women are such fans of lingerie when it’s expensive, scratchy, and rippable.  Plus trying on something that makes you look good is as easy as trying on a bathing suit.  Maybe it’s just me?

I just started spending money for Victoria’s Secret underwear and I love the store to pieces.

But if I had the funds, I would buy from Agent Provacateur. Maybe not exclusively, but I’d get a few nice things.

Neither… I currently am wearing a size 32H and neither brands have that size… or even close. I’ll buy underwear from VS, but it irks me to go in there and watch women buy bras that clearly do not fit them. If it rides up in the back it’s too big in the band, if your boobs are falling out, it’s too small in the cup! Please get fitted—and not at VS.

Oh my bad, AP goes up to a G. Still to expensive for me, I’m afraid. I still have to drop about $80 for a normal bra though.

.......and the G cup is for pregnant ladies.

@nikkialli: I totally feel you about VS and proper bra fit!  I’m a 30DD or 32D/DD depending on the brand.  Whenever I go into VS and look at the bras, I WISH I could only spend $42 on a bra! And I find it extremely annoying when the salespeople try to convince me that I’m acutally not my size OR that I can just wear a 34C. Yeah, wouldn’t I have figured that out BEFORE spending thousands of dollars over the last few years on my rare size at speciality shops?  And I’d totally be an AP girl if they sold my size and weren’t a zillion dollars.  I’m personally a HUGE Elle McPherson fan. She’s great for women who have a smaller band size and large cups! And her stuff is so pretty and well-made!  Oh and I LOVE Chantelle and Simone Perele.  Those French KNOW their underwear!

Definitely VS for me.  I prefer cute/comfy over sexy in the first place (like wearing a t-shirt and panties, or cute PJs), but when I want to feel sexy I like wearing lingerie that’s pretty and flirty and satin-y, and VS simply fits my style more than AP does.  Besides, I suspect my boyfriend is more interested in getting me out of my lingerie than seeing me in it. :D

I love lingerie. I’ll get it from whatever source that makes it look lacy and makes it come cheap.

A pair of stay-ups combined with the most flattering combination of push-up bra and lace (corset if you’ve got a little tummy) will save any immediate relationship problems (albeit not permanently). Mark my words. My girlfriend has attested to this fact.

@nikkialli - took the words right out of my mouth! Only diff is that my band is a 30.

I choose c) Neither.

Agent Provocateur has always fit like an overpriced Victoria’s Secret to me.  And we won’t even get into how VS lingerie tears to pieces after you wear it a handful of times.

For my lingerie, I prefer designers like Kiss Me Deadly, S.P.A.N.K., and Charnos.

Charnos is no more!

There is something special about slipping on sexy lingerie from Agent Prov and squirting a mist of their wonderful perfume sheer luxurious indulgence.
