Abercrombie & Fitch T-Shirts Shock And Offend—Again!
Hey, big news! Abercrombie & Fitch has a few T-shirts in its “New College” line that are, like, way sexual and sexist and not particularly funny. (The shirts above say “Show the Twins,” “Female Students Wanted for Sexual Research,“and “Female streaking encouraged.”) And people are mad about it! The American Family Association (AFA), a religious organization, says the shirts promote a “sex-as-recreation” agenda, but I don’t really think that’s the problem or a problem at all. I mean, sex is recreation. However, the shirts are sexist, foul and not funny. That said, they are extremely helpful in identifying douchebags from a distance and that is a plus. Hah - while I wouldn’t wear them, they are pretty funny. Show the twins indeed.

I agree with the article, these shirts are a great way to weed out the douches. Free mammogram shirt? No thanks.

For some reason it wouldn’t seem as offensive to me if a woman wore the shirt versus a guy. Maybe it’s just me.
I still don’t get why stuff like this is a part of college culture, but the frat boy mentality perpetuates it.

Being offended at sex as recreation IS stupid, but I wouldn’t be offended if a woman chose to wear the first one, or maybe even the second.
Don’t get me wrong, though. I hate winding up having to sit next to the guy who’s wearing a “I (heart) Lesbians” shirt. I mean, doesn’t he realize that means he’s definitely not going to get any?

I work at American Eagle where we sell shirts with some similar sayings. I just glare at any guy who dares to pick one up. Whenever I see a guy walking around wearing a shirt like this, I have to strongly resist the urge to go up and knee him in the balls.

Wow. That’s just… disgusting. I don’t even think my WORST ex-boyfriend would wear something like that.

My favorite is going to be the guy wearing the shirt who feels the need to READ IT TO US while hitting on my friends and I. I remember an old neighbor (you know the type-in his thirties, thinks he’s hot #&@$%, hits on 18 year olds and questions why people roll their eyes at him) who called himself SuperDave-no lie-went as a “mammogram tester” for Halloween and spent 15 minutes explaining why I needed one, and that they were, in fact, free. You know, like the big giant “FREE” above his costume wasn’t understood. So, on the plus side, being able to see douches coming is great, but having a reason to really rip into them when they read it TO YOU is far better.

i thought they were shirts for females, which i was totally okay with.
Whatever, just another “IQ on their forehead” thing.

If women hate these types of shirts so much, why would they approve of them over at Abercrombie & Fitch? Obvious answer - $$$. I’m sure somewhere along chain of command there has to be a woman giving the thumbs up to these before they are put in the stores. I guess the point is to make it easy on you ladies to see “that” guy coming. If you had a say in these types of shirt being put in the stores, would you say: NO enough already or YES I need all the help I can get in determining if he’s a douche or not

After A&F’s treatment of the girl with autism, anything they do doesn’t shock me anymore. I simply refuse to shop there.

@Sancho: Most companies are only concerned about adhering to the law. If ethics were the main drive behind most capitalistic ventures, then most of the world’s companies would be out of business.

I guess it wasn’t enough for A&F to have all the fratboys wearing their clothes. Now they let them design ‘em too.
Too bad they don’t go back to selling camping supplies to Hemingway wannabees.

grow up there just t-shirts…If guys find it fun then let them. People today are so uptight over crap that really doesn’t mean anything. Have a laugh sometime you might enjoy it.
