It’s A Nice Day For ... A Wal-Mart Wedding
Nothing says love like a Blue Light Special, right? That’s why we’re happy to announce that Wal-Mart has hosted its very first wedding, at the store in York, Nebraska. The lucky shoppers were Crystal Newsome and Robert Vickrey. They decided to exchange their vows in the lawn and garden department, among oodles of potted plants. Why would they pick this as the location of their wedding? “We had our first kiss at Wal-Mart,” explains Crystal. Both Robert and Crystal are Wal-Mart employees: Robert’s worked there for more than a decade and currently manages the grocery department, while Crystal has been the deli manager for five years. The two started dating two years ago. “We both work here, we met here, it all started here, why not?” said Robert.
Rather than send out invitations to their co-workers, Robert and Crystal simply placed an invite by the time clock. And hey, this had to be convenient for any friends and family members who waited until the last minute to buy a gift. During the ceremony, Robert said, “I love everything about Crystal. She is an absolutely wonderful woman. She makes me smile. She’s put the joy of life back in me.” Aww, that is almost cute enough to suppress my snarky comment about how the groom wore black jeans. Walmart doesn’t have blue light specials, that’s Kmart…Is she wearing a house dress as a wedding dress? Since it was at Walmart did they just buy there wedding clothes there? Man this recession is depressing…

Talk about a May-December romance! He has 3 grown children, and four grandchildren. Her oldest child out of four… is six years old.
Hmmm.

Im thinkin that this guy looks more like the DAD ro the GRANDDAD???? Are you pickin up what Im puttin down here? Am I the only one seeing this?
I mean, this guy is obviousley way-aged, all grey, (As in old grey)and almost totally bald, as in old-bald, not thirty or fourty-ish, but old balb and old grey.
Im thinking the Senior Center second chance venue may have led the lonely to the old age opening here. C’Mon!

why would any of you be so judgemental? are you the wedding gods? this is two people (adults)that found love and happiness. i would rather get married in wal-mart than in the local court house any day.
Congratulations to the happy couple and i hope you have many years of love.

No, it isn’t. About 4 years ago, I worked at a Walmart in Ohio, and a couple got married in that store. And there was at least 1 walmart wedding before that, in another state (cant remember where).

I’m with popeye on this one. There’s nothing that gives anyone else the right to judge someone else’s wedding. Who cares if he’s wearing black jeans? We don’t know what’s in their hearts or in their pockets. If they love each other, what does it matter? Weddings don’t all have to be the same with white dresses and tuxes in a church. They’re supposed to be a special moment between the two people - not a show to impress bloggers on the internet. Not cool, Frisky.
