Miley Cyrus’ New Wal-Mart Collection Is Not So Bad
Wal-Mart is having a serious fashion moment. They are selling the iconic Norma Kamali sleeping bag coat for a total steal ($35), and now preview images of Miley Cyrus’ new spring line have leaked. Of course, we would normally yawn about the latter if it weren’t for the fact that the questionably styled teenage singer worked with fashion expert Max Azria to create an entire spring collection for under $20—yes under twenty dollars—that actually looks kind of wearable. BCBG it ain’t, but this cute dress and tops bearing the kind of ruffles and prints that we can totally see as Max’s influence look good so far. We’ll have to wait until February to see more but in the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more deals. Um, is Wal-Mart the new Target or something? [Lucky]

I have a few pieces from her collection (graphic v-neck t-shirt dress, plaid dress and the smocked blouson top) and I absolutely love them. The quality is surprisingly good considering I got all 3 pieces for under $40. I can’t wait for her spring line to come out!

A lot of the pieces are mostly suited for teens, but her basic pieces are pretty awesome. I’ve stocked up on a lot of undershirts and plain long sleeved shirts for $6 a piece. The cardigans and vests are pretty nice and only $14.

There is a shirt in the local walmart that every time I walk by, I think “man! that is an awesome shirt!”. Then I realize that probably half the town also thinks it is an awesome shirt, and I’d see it on everyone. Then I feel slightly dirty, because it’s all Miley-Cyrus-tacular, and my brother would beat me up… Ok, he wouldn’t beat me up, but he’d make fun of me until the cows come home.

I will not be buying this, mainly because Walmart is one of the most socially irresponsible corporations in the world. Samesies for the re-release of Hard Candy at Walmart.
It never ceases to surprise me what little research celebrities do when they’re endorsing/designing for a store or organization.

While I rarely shop at Target and almost never at WAL-MART, I’m here to say, that exact dress in many colors is currently being sold at Target cause I saw it with my roomies this weekend. Aaaaaand, although we thought it was kinda cute, we knew we had to forget about buying it after a 12 year-old walked by with one in hand.
