Katie Monocle Necklace, $70, Aveen Designs
My eyesight’s too good for me to need glasses, but I’ve often toyed with wearing a pair because they’re such a smart-looking accessory. I don’t want to feel like a fraud in prescription-less frames (and no offense to those who need them), but that doesn’t mean I can’t wear another type of eye-correction equipment. Since, for the most part, the only ones still using monocles for their intended purpose are cartoonish characters like Mr. Peanut, I won’t feel like a poser stringing one around my neck. And, if my eyesight does disintegrate, I guess I’ll be prepared.

Do they actually magnify? Even if they were just magnifying lenses, they could be useful. And more stylish than the hand-lens I carry in my purse (I use it at work).

@BlueVibe: Some of them do! I bought a necklace with a vintage monocle that has “1.25” engraved on it.

Totally cute. I already wear glasses and I’m considering these.
