i definitely got the douche vibe from that group. The thing that cracked me up was that the point of this focus group was to find out why a guy wouldn’t contact you for a second date. One of the guys specifically said he doesn’t use the 1st date as a litmus test, it’s the 2nd one he goes by. OK, then why are you here?
I can’t say anything they contributed was anything earth shattering. It was all common sense.
That pick up line sucked.. I hope he didn’t get any play.
But yeah, that was some very common sense advice they gave. I just think that on good date both people do the same amount of talking, and they don’t give too much away. So as far as a 2nd date goes, you do get to know someone more.

that pick up line was kinda funny, although totally cheesy. but any guy who is using quotes from grease to pick me up is gonna get laughed at, big time.
I’m pretty sure what’s “multiplyin’” around here lately is troll posts. How sad that these people have nothing better to do.
That said, I kinda liked the Grease line. It was goofy and cheesy, but most pick up lines are. I’d much rather hear one that’s obviously intended to be cute than one that a guy is taking seriously. We’ve all agreed in other articles that a sense of humor is an absolute must, so don’t knock it when it shows up. A little bit of goofy is a great ice breaker.
Frankly, if I saw that guy from across the room, I wouldn’t be interested looks-wise. If he walked up with one of the lame “heaven’s missing an angel” lines or some such nonsense, I’d roll my eyes and tell him to shove off. Depending on how the Grease line was delivered (cute versus creepy), I might talk to him. That doesn’t mean I’d necessarily go out with him, but I’d give him credit for effort.
Of course, I’m 36, so I can damn near quote Grease from memory.

ugh. this is the definition of douche.
#1 turn off on a first date for me: being in a room with any one of those dudes with that music playing.
SEE YA!

@Melissaann Why is it the definition of douche? I’d certainly be turned off if a guy did any of the things they listed.

@Kathls: He’s there to get all the play-acting out of the way. Then when you’re more relaxed on the second date, he can get to know the real you.

I’ve never seen it either, but for some reason, I knew where the lyrics were from.

I’ve seen a lot of lists of things guys and girls either love or hate…
Here are a few to add to the list:
1. Making fun of, or discrediting someone based on their physical appearance.
2. Using negative, hate filled terms to describe someone who is different from you. (it’s called prejudice)
Let’s all practice treating one another with respect…
