30-Day Breakup Guide: Day 9
Read A Book You Loved
Figure out where your closest public library is. Go there and get a library card if you don’t have one already. Remember wandering the stacks in grade school? Chances are you read something as a little girl that jump-started your imagination or inspired you to do something silly. Today, you’re going to find that book that you enjoyed so much (a Nancy Drew mystery, one of The Baby-Sitters Club books, anything Judy Blume, etc.) and read it all over again, as a grown woman. Remind yourself of everything that you can learn in the span of 10 (or 20, or 30) years, ‘cause, girl, you ain’t done yet. Far from it.
Did you just go through a horrible breakup? Is your heart in a million little pieces? Whether you got dumped or did the dumping, splitting up with someone sucks. But have no fear, The Frisky’s 30-Day Breakup Guide is here! Once you’ve a good cry over the loss of your relationship, spend the next month working on yourself. We’ll be posting detailed instructions for the next 30 days to help you get over he-who-shall-not-be-named. There’s even a handy-dandy calendar to help you keep track of your progress. Now get to work!

OKAY, I must say that the “Divine Secrets if the Ya-Ya Sisterhood” is an AMAZING BOOK, and although I wasn’t going through a breakup at the time I was bawling by the end! Not necessarily because it’s sad, but it really puts things into perspective about what’s important in life. Family, friends, you, God. READ IT!!!

I would recommend Eat, Pray, Love. It’s a really great “post break-up” book. Or, Judy Blume’s Summer Sisters is always a steamy read
