10 Fall Movies We Can’t Wait To See

While we enjoyed some of the films from summer movie blockbuster season (Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants! Step Brothers! The Dark Knight!), we hated others (yuck, Hancock) and are looking forward to a new crops of flicks this Fall. Here are the ten we’re highly anticipating.

Twilight Release date: December 12

  • Why we’re psyched: Fans are totally psyched about the novels, so the film has to be good.
  • What could go wrong: It’s hard for vampire movies to avoid being campy and predictable.

  • Burn After Reading Release date: September 12

  • Why we’re psyched: George Clooney and Brad Pitt added to the genius of the Coen Brothers.
  • What could go wrong: Yeah, sometimes the Coen Brothers’ genius confuses us.
  • W Release date: October 17

  • Why we’re psyched: It’s a film about a president while he’s still in office.
  • What could go wrong: Oliver Stone’s films have been plagued by historical inaccuracies. Plus, this %$&@ looks kind of campy.
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Release date: November 21

  • Why we’re psyched: Dumbledore meets the most dangerous and dark wizard of all time.
  • What could go wrong: Um, nothing. Harry Potter is golden, yo.
  • Quantum of Solace Release date: November 7

  • Why we’re psyched: Daniel Craig returns as 007 with action-packed car chases, explosions and fight scenes.
  • What could go wrong: If you’ve seen one James Bond movie, you’ve seen ‘em all.
  • Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist Release date: October 3

  • Why we’re psyched: Nick and Norah have an exciting night in NYC that we can only dream about.
  • What could go wrong: Their playlist may not be to everyone’s liking.
  • The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Release date: December 19

  • Why we’re psyched: The make-up effects used to age Brad Pitt are incredible.
  • What could go wrong: Isn’t this Patch Adams in reverse?
  • How to Lose Friends and Alienate People Release date: October 3

  • Why we’re psyched: We loved the book about writer Toby Young’s experience working for Vanity Fair. Far more informative that How To Win Friends And Influence People, for sure!
  • What could go wrong: By the looks of the trailer, the movie seems more fictionalized than the book—which could be its’ downfall.
  • Sex Drive Release date: October 10

  • Why we’re psyched: Gross-out comedies are not just for boys.
  • What could go wrong: This is just like Road Trip and Euro Trip put together and NOT in a good way.
  • Four Christmases Release date: November 26

  • Why we’re psyched: It’s like The Breakup only hopfully not as depressing/realistic-in-a-bad-way!
  • What could go wrong: Picture a combination of Fred Clause and Sweet Home Alabama—yikes! Is that why there isn’t a trailer yet?

So can’t wait for Harry Potter!

I’m a big fan of the Twilight series, but I have a feeling the movie is going to be cheesy.  I mean the book is already kind of cheesy/teenage angsty so I can only imagine how that will play out on the big screen.
