The It Bag: When I first arrived in Manhattan back in 2000, this Louis Vuitton bag was THE BOMB. Every stylish woman in the city carried it and you were basically considered trash if you didn't own one. In fact, my boss felt so embarrassed for me since I didn't have any LV she bought me one for Christmas. (Hilarious, because logos really aren't my thing.) Of course, eventually people moved on, but the cult of the "it bag," where every season everyone bought or just lusted after the same uber-expensive designer bag, was here to stay.
