2009 will no doubt go down in the history books as the Year of Twitter and the Year of the Insanely Cute Animal Video. But there is one other way this year will no doubt be remembered—as the year an awful lot of famous folks died, 80 percent of them truly unexpected. Here's a look back at the deaths that sent us grasping for a box of Kleenex.

Obviously, the one that is closest to our frontal lobes—the mysterious, untimely death of Brittany Murphy, who died of what are "apparently natural causes." To find out how cardiac arrest in a 32-year-old can be considered natural, we'll probably have to wait a few weeks. [AP]
