2009 was the year of the Twitter. I mean, who even remembers the time before we were forced to document our daily lives in 140 characters? The year was also jam-packed with Twitter wars, the most publicized one being Ashton Kutcher‘s rivalry with CNN to reach one million followers first. Larry King spoke on CNN’s behalf saying, “Do you think you can take on an entire network? Do you know how big we are? Do you even know what CNN is? CNN will bury you.” In mid-April, Ashton totally kicked CNN’s butt by saying he would donate 10,000 mosquito nets to the Malaria No More charity if he won. He also intended to ding-dong-ditch Ted Turner’s house but when that turned out to be implausible, he delivered 800 boxes of Hostess Ding Dongs to Ted Turner’s restaurant instead. [CNN]
