This ad appeared in Woman’s Day magazine last year. It too is trying to embed the idea that women’s empowerment lies in squirting harmful things into the vagina. This ad made the rounds on the internet and the company removed it from magazines and issued an apology. Douche advertisers have a long history of exploitation, and I can only hope the outrage over this ad proves we are coming to the end of that crookedness. Because there’s nothing douchier then companies selling harmful products by relying on genital shame.
