WTF: Camilla Belle

I actually like Camilla's fun flapper-inspired dress. What I don't understand is her hair. Is it a tribute to "Anne of Green Gables"? It's one of my favorite books too, but I prefer to read it, not use it as my hairstyling inspiration.
