Room, by Emma Donaghue

I don't know what I was expecting when I picked up Room but it actually blew away any possible expectation I could have had. The novel is narrated by a young boy named Jack, who has spent his entire life in a single room. His mom was kidnapped and held in captivity in that room, where Jack was also born. This is the story of how Jack's view of the world is limited to that small space, but the imagination of the book is incredibly vast. Absolutely one of the best books I've ever read. — Amelia
