Lionel Shriver is the most unrated talent in the English language, IMHO. We Need To Talk About Kevin is an absolutely incredible, Orange Prize-winning novel about a mother whose son Kevin grows up to be a killer. Told from the mother's point of view starting from before birth, we see how Kevin always had problems and gave out warning signals throughout his childhood. The prose is beautiful and you almost forget you're reading a horror story. — Jessica
