The Frisky Says: It Gets Better

I wish I could tell my younger self and to other kids going through the same thing, "It gets better." By high school, things started to turn around for me. I made some friends and lost most of my baby weight. By college I was modestly hot and very hip if I do say so. And by that point, I had invested all my energy into my passions and my intellect, which enabled me to be a successful adult and also a humble and compassionate person who is sensitive to others' feelings. I left my town behind when I moved to New York City to attend NYU and learned that being different and getting bullied put me in touch with my deeper self, my creativity. It made me an artist.
