The A-Lister: Mike Ruiz
Now Mike is famous. Gaymous actually. He's one of the most in-demand celebrity photographers and is known for his "transformations." One of New York's primary supporters of LGBT equality, Mike steers clear of most of the drama and focused on his career and charity work.
The season two teasers show you saying you will open up a little more this time around. Will we get to meet your partner, Martin Berusch?
You sure will. As a matter of fact, you’ll meet him tonight on the first episode. He’s present certainly on the show, but just how present is still to be determined. We have weeks of taping ahead of us, and we’re still kinda feeling out how it’s going to culminate. He’s game to do it, but honestly the more we get into it—in theory it sounded great to have Martin on the show because we work together and stuff, and we thought we could show us in our work environment. But the reality is our personal relationship is our personal relationship and I think organically neither one of us feels comfortable with having that on TV.
You are the celebrity photographer. You recreate celebrities' entire aesthetics. I would like to refer to them as "Ruizormations."
I like that. I'm going to use it!
Which cast member would you like to transform the most and what would that look like?
We’re actually talking about transforming some of the cast members. I would like to transform Nyasha [the season's new girl, who is rumored to be a terror]. We discussed it. We talked about transforming her because she’s so hyper-feminine and girlie, so I was thinking about transforming her into a guy. You know like a gangsta rapper or something.
I am counting the minutes until Monday night at 10 p.m. (EST). But what do you think? Will you tune in to see how the boys do it?Related to: a list mike
