The A-Lister: Derek Saathoff
Definitely a contender for Most Accomplished cast member, Derek has my vote for most gorgeous and fabulous of the guys, overall. His Louisville charm radiates from within, but don't get it twisted—Derek is Manhattan.
You're from Louisville, yet I detect no hint of an accent. How did you become so New York chic?
I came to NY at a very young age, at 17 years old. I was scouted off the street as a model and I stayed here. I think I wanted to get rid of the accent quick because I saw other people who were successful and they weren’t talking with a twang so I wanted to kind of become a New Yorker and I’ve done that. I’ve been here 10 years now so I lost the accent. But it’s really nice to go home and to have a Jack Daniels and to have that twang and sit on the front porch with my mom. But it’s also nice to be here in New York and to live this fabulous life.
So my take is that you basically run this entire show.

You have a great perspective because I think I’m the queen bitch of this show. I have the ability to turn everyone against someone and I’ve just done it this season. It’s such a nice place to be in and I’ve always been a powerful manipulator of the mind and I think that’s the reason I’ve been so successful because I’m a great mind f**ker and it comes from a place of good. But if you cross me, it comes from a place of bad and I will mind f**k the s**t out of you.
You said that you knew there would be a season two. Will there be a season three?
Honey, I think there will be a season five. That’s where I stop. That’s when I’m done. There has to be a “Derek Getting Pregnant” or “Derek Getting Married.” I have to hope that I’ll get a spin-off. But I’m really proud of this season of "The A-List" and everyone here. I can sit here and say everyone’s here for a reason and whether I like them or not, I know that reason and I’m just happy to be a part of it.
