This week, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week came to a close. In many ways, our fashion future has been foretold — what we saw on runways this past week will directly influence what we wear next fall and winter, whether we purchase the actual designer ready to wear (fat chance) or H&M's take on the trends. It's always interesting to see how real people take what they see on the catwalk and reinterpret it to make it work for them. Perhaps the best example of this are the attendees of the shows. Unlike a red carpet appearance, celebrities, models, editors, and questionably employed It girls turn up in pseudo-casual ensembles fit for the most stylish impresarios on the streets.
