The temporary/permanent bartender

The temporary/permanent bartender. He says he's just tending bar until his acting/writing/music career takes off, but it's been years and he's still slinging drinks and coming home wasted a 6 a.m. Who is he kidding? He is a bartender who acts/writes/makes music on the side. His job will give him license to be a partying, flirting, flake until his creative career takes off, which will probably be never.
