Charlie Sheen recently said -- among other things, of course -- “I got magic and I got poetry at my fingertips.” He wasn't being, well, poetic -- writing as "Charles Sheen," the self-destructing actor released a book of poetry, A Peace of My Mind, in 1990. An independent blind review of one of his poems by respected poetry editor Frederick Raborg, Jr found his work lacking. Sample line: "Teacher, teacher, the years have passed / I never thought it would go so fast / The things I learned they didn't last. / I'm headin' to sea as I raise the mast. / Oh, teacher, teacher, I'm a peace of your past." We can only hope that while Sheen is forced to take a break from the small screen during this manic time that he fuels some of the crazy into a second book of poetry.
