Can Organic Be Chic Too?

Earth-friendly clothing tends to have a reputation for being crunchy and bland, not fashion-forward. But aesthetics aside, here's why you should care about buying "cleaner" cotton: According to the Organic Trade Association, "It can take almost a 1/3 pound of synthetic fertilizers to grow one pound of raw cotton in the US, and it takes just under one pound of raw cotton to make one t-shirt." That's a lot of pesticide. Luckily, our notion of granola fashion is changing thanks to hip brands that are embracing more environmentally responsible fabrics and selling organics that are just as chic-looking as their more polluted brethren.
For example, starting March 25, H&M will launch The Garden Collection, a gorgeously designed, fully sustainable line made of organic cotton, linen and recycled polyester.
