Flip open any fashion magazine this season and I guarantee it will declare fall's hottest color as oxblood. Not human blood, not cow blood, not goat blood, oxblood! Otherwise known by the considerably less alarming name "maroon," it's a deep, sort of dull reddish brown, which I guess is the color that oxen bleed. Semantics aside, oxblood fits perfectly into the dark, vampy color scheme we've forecasted for fall, and its gothy appeal is sure to complement any autumn-to-winter wardrobe (especially if you, like me, tend to find yourself in a rut of all black everything from October through February).
