Mumbai Sweet Water

Mumbai -- and India in general -- isn't someplace we associate with delicious tasting water. But in 2006, residents of the city claimed that Mahim Creek, one of the most polluted creeks in the country,  was suddenly sweet. The creek is full of raw sewage and industrial waste, yet locals there and in nearby Gujarat began drinking the water and claiming the water tasted sweet. Just a day later, though, the water reportedly tasted brackish again.
