Fresh fruit: Grapes, apples, pears, or figs are always a good bet. Check your local produce department to see what's in season, and don't be afraid to experiment a bit.
Fruit preserves or jams: Fig jelly, apple butter, and quince paste can stand up to stronger cheese flavors.
Candied nuts: These add a much needed crunchy element to a cheese board, and can bring an array of different flavors depending on what mixture and spices you choose.
