Saoirse Ronan (pronounced "Sir-sha") first came to our attention as conniving young Briony Tallis in the amazing 2007 film adaptation of "Atonement." She followed that up by appearing as murder victim Susie in "The Lovely Bones" and as the titular bad-ass young assassin in "Hanna." For an 18-year-old, she's certainly accomplished a lot.
Her latest film is "The Host," is a post-modern sci-fi thriller. The Earth has been invaded by aliens; Saoirse plays Melanie Stryder, a young woman whose body has been invaded by an alien "soul," who must find and protect her loved ones. In short, we're seeing it.
