For me, salsa was one of those things that I would constantly complain about -- every salsa I bought from the store was either too sweet, too watery, too bland, or not spicy enough. It didn't dawn on me that I could just shut up and make my own damn salsa until a few weeks ago, when Nick made burritos and I really wanted salsa but really, really didn't want to go to the store. Miraculously, I had a can of tomatoes, an onion, fresh cilantro, and a jalapeno on hand. I tossed them all in the food processor and the result was a revelation: salsa exactly to my taste.
