Many, many years ago, a friend of mine went to Paris and brought me back a pink and purple silk scarf from Christian Lacroix. It was a dream come true. My first piece from a fancy French designer! Now, I'll have to treasure my scarf even more, as the design house will likely close at the end of the month due to financial woes.

On Tuesday in Paris, Lacroix showed what will likely be his final couture collection, unless he can find new investors to back him. The fashion community came together to help put on this grand finale, and seamstresses, makeup artists, and hairdressers offered their services free of charge. Contributing to the somber mood, badges that read "Christian Lacroix Forever" were handed out at the show, and many of the clothes were black. But instead of being sad, let's take a trip down memory lane and remember the great designer and a few of the crazy creations celebs rocked and models wore down the runway. [AP]
