Every year when the holidays roll around, I find myself completely unprepared decor-wise. Sure, I cut down my own tree (the trees for sale in NYC are ridiculously priced), throw some ornaments on it and pull out the nine-dollar Target stockings I glitter-penned names on to, but there’s just something so … JV about it all. I’m all for kitschy holiday decor—what other time of year is overdoing the tacky so appropriate?—but this year I want to go for a bit more understated and cl-cl-classy look. Everyone needs a little decorating inspiration, right? I found a few great ideas from great bloggers out there. First up, above, is a Habitually Chic decor tradition: Pomanders. They’re clove-studded oranges, or in this case clementines, that fill the house with a great scent and look pretty displayed with greenery and pine cones.
