Tracy Morgan disturbed a lot of people in June when he performed a standup show in Nashville and said that if his son come out to him, he would pull out a knife and stab him. One audience member, Kevin Rogers, detailed on his Facebook page how Morgan called being gay a choice and gays need to stop being “pussies” about bullying. The piece de resistance, Rogers wrote, was:

“Tracy then said he didn’t f**king care if he pissed off some gays, because if they can take a f**king d**k up their ass they can take a f**king joke.”

So. Funny. Tracy Morgan’s boss on “30 Rock,” Tina Fey, was quick to respond to that foolishness. Fey called his homophobic rant “disturbing to me at a time when homophobic hate crimes continue to be a life-threatening issue for the GLBT Community. It also doesn’t line up with the Tracy Morgan I know, who is not a hateful man and is generally much too sleepy and self-centered to ever hurt another person.” Tracy Morgan wised up and publicly apologized. “I don’t really see gay or straight,” he said. “I just see human beings now. From the bottom of my heart, I apologize to everybody.” He also met with LGBT youth in New York City, which I think is pretty damn cool.[GLAAD: Tracy Morgan]
