Details: H&M striped T-shirt; J. Crew sweater and heels; Gap cargo jacket; Madewell jeans; Anthropologie earrings; dead stock nameplate bracelets from Erica Weiner.
Outfit Notes: This weekend was a strange one for me. My ex-fiance got married ... to the woman he left me for. I didn't have particularly sad feelings about it -- I think they're better suited for each other -- but it was weird knowing he's someone's husband now and that his whole family, who were going to be my family at one time, were in town.
Anyway, I decided to ensure that I had a good day by getting a massage and then on my walk home I happened upon a sample sale for the jewelry designer Erica Weiner. In addition to selling her own pieces, she also sells dead stock jewelry from the 50s and 60s. There was a huge basket full of these nameplate bracelets; they were mostly kind of old-fashioned names, so I knew I wouldn't find my name, but I did find my mom's name (Cheryl) and my grandma's name (Colleen, who passed away a year and a half ago). It felt like a nice omen for the day; I may be single, but I have been lucky to have many strong women in my life. So I bought these bracelets ($5 each!) -- plus one for Ami (featuring her grandma's name) -- and will wear them as a reminder of the awesome women I have guiding me in heaven and on earth.
