Lance married Kristin Richards in 1998 and it was during their marriage that he won seven consecutive Tour de France titles. In 1996, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer that had spread to his lungs and brain, and doctors gave Armstrong less than a 50 percent chance of survival. Surgery and brutal cycles of chemotherapy saved his life, but his marriage suffered. The couple divorced in 2003, but during their marriage they had three children -- Luke, born in October 1999, and twins Isabelle and Grace, born in November 2001 -- through in-vitro fertilization.
