Dermalogica

If you’ve never tried anything from Dermalogica, I can’t recommend them enough. The brand has the perfect approach to skincare in that it blends both clinical and natural ingredients and philosophies for highly effective products that aren’t loaded with chemicals. Buying the whole system is a bit of an investment that I think is worth it, especially if you’re oily or acne-prone, but the individual products are great on their own as well, particularly the Clearing Mattifier. It has the smoothing, silicone-y feel of a primer, which makes it a great base for makeup, but it also contains salicylic acid to keep things clear and under control. It has such a silky, easy-to-blend texture that you can even smear it on over a full face of makeup throughout the day without everything else up too much. [$43, Dermalogica]
