Based on a Tennessee Williams novel, the 1961 film "The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone" is all about an older woman (Vivien Leigh) paying for the services of a younger gentleman (Warren Beatty) while abroad in Rome.
A male sex worker I interviewed told me this happens much more in European countries -- that older women hire younger men as escorts. “Many older women I know personally travel to Turkey to buy sex from young men. In these cases, a pseudo form of affair takes place but both parties know that money/goods are exchanging hands in return for sex. And everyone who sees them knows, it is strangely accepted,” he told me.
It’s not too far off from the film “Cougar Explosion.” According to the Cougar-n-Cub community, the relationship dynamic is all about having a Sugar Mama who pays your bills on the one side and a young hot body to come home to on the other. For some guys, when the money is gone, so are they.
