Rumer Willis' punky lesbian character, Gia, on "90210" will stick around for a little longer than we thought, according to Entertainment Weekly. Gia will seduce Jessica Lowndes' character, Adrianna, but supposedly this girl-on-girl action isn't simply about saving this show that should have died already. "This isn’t a fling,” "90210" executive producer Rebecca Sinclair said. “We’re coming at this [relationship] from a genuine place and not going, ‘Let’s do a titillating story that will grab some promotion.'" They're trying to fill the void of gay and bisexual characters on the show, she added. Yeah, sure.
Anyway, "90210" isn't the only show to use a lesbian story to boost ratings, but, fortunately, some shows keep their lesbian characters around for more than a few episodes.
