Today, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg appeared on "Oprah" to discuss a $100 million donation he made to the Newark, New Jersey school system. Zuckerberg, who has no particular ties to Newark, chose the city after meeting the city's young mayor, Cory Booker, at a conference. "[They] began a continuing conversation about the mayor's plans for the city, according to people familiar with their relationship," reported The New York Times. While cynics might say this is a positive way to deflect attention away from his scathing portrayal in the new "Social Network" movie, we think it's admirable that someone so young is willing to give so much.
