Bidets are not for washing your face.

I did not grow up in the kind of house that had bidets, so I was not prepared to interact with them in the real world. When I was younger, I played at a friend's house that was equipped with bidets in every loo. After I went to the bathroom, I turned on the bidet thinking it was a funny looking sink and the water shot into my face and up my nose. I learned a valuable lesson: those funny looking sinks are not for washing your hands, they are for washing your face! I believed this to be true until I was on vacation with a boyfriend when I was 25. We were staying at a fancy hotel with a bidet. He walked in the bathroom and saw me washing my face in the bidet and started laughing. I thank him for teaching me what my parents did not. A bidet is for washing your tush post-pooping.
