Question #2: Do You Want To Have Kids? When?

One of the rumored reasons for Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston’s split was, of course, them having a difference of opinion about when to have children. Aniston maintains she has always wanted kids, but in the months leading up to their split, Pitt was very vocal about wanting them ASAP. “Friends” had just come to an end and Aniston was embarking on what she hoped would be a fruitful big screen career; as a result, many wondered if she wasn’t interested in letting Brad plant his seed, for the time being at least.

This isn’t a condemnation of Aniston at all, but there is a lesson for us all here; yes, you should absolutely discuss with your significant other if you want kids, but you should also discuss a time frame. Personally, I could never date a man who wasn’t interested in having kids, but I would also be wary of getting very serious with someone who did want kids without a having a serious talk about when they would ideally like to have that happen. Why? I am at the point in my life now where I not only know I want kids, but I know I would like to have them in the next 3-5 years; I would have a hard time moving forward with someone unless I knew we were on the same page about that before I could conclude that we were on the same page about each other.
