You thought it couldn’t get any worse but it just did. Through friends, acquaintances, or an exhaustive Internet stalking, you discover that your ex is dating someone else. Or engaged. Or worst of all, he’s totally moved on, gotten married, and procreated. Remember that montage you were working on? Add his new girlfriend/fiancé/wife to it. Whether you know who she is or not, in your mind you can make her boobs bigger and her skin better. You focus on everything she is that you aren’t, and everything she has that you don’t. Like your ex. Pulling out all the stops to utter despair, you close the shades and sit in the dark listening to the same depressing song on repeat over and over again. It’s actually healthy to feel your feelings and let yourself mourn the end of your relationship, as long as this doesn’t turn into prolonged self-torture and you know when to stop. You do know when to stop, right?
