    Chanel Beauty

hanel is the definition of lavish elegance, and the face from this season doesn’t disappoint. The renowned brand house makeup artist, Peter Philips, also creates the shades he uses on the models each season. In this case, Master Lagerfeld specifically requested silver for the show. For this look Philips used Épatant, the gunmetal shade in the autumn Illusion d’Ombre cream eye shadow collection, which he mixed with the accompanying shades of black and white shimmer. The lower lash line was defined using Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in Ébène followed by a few coats of Inimitable Waterproof mascara in Noir. Philips used a pinkish nude lip shade from the Rouge Allure collection. Despite the deceivingly fanciful impression it gives, his look is fairly simple to create at home. As in the look from Lim, shadow below the lower lash line is best left on the runway, but a black eyeliner (like L’Oreal Extra Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner, $8.49 at drugstore.com) and a silver cream shadow layered for opacity and blended to the browbone outward in a subtle wing are the keys to this face. Perfect for the base of this look is CoverGirl Intense ShadowBlast Eyeshadow, which doubles as a primer, in Platinum Pop, $7.99 at drugstore.com. Finish the look by layering a highly pigmented gunmetal shade like the darker color in this L’Oreal HiP Studio Secrets Professional Metallic Shadow Duo in Platinum, $6.63 at drugstore.com, closer to the lash line.
