The Test: You're both excited to start a family, and you think it will be easy, until ... it isn't.
How To Pass It: Infertility is a heavy burden for any couple to bear, and it sparks a ton of intense emotions and feelings of guilt, blame, and uncertainty. Both partners will process things in different ways, but try to deal with everything that comes up as a united front as much as you can; keep the lines of communication open, and don't let one partner spiral into self-blame.
Even as a couple, fertility issues can feel very isolating, so make sure to seek out support outside of your relationship as well. Surround yourself with other couples who have been through similar issues or are currently going through them. You'll find a sense of community, which is so important, but you'll also make connections with others who understand where you're at, which will take some of the pressure off each other.
