26 Hollywood Casting Close Calls
Ryan Reynolds & Ashton Kutcher Could Have Been In "Horrible Bosses"
In its first weekend, "Horrible Bosses" grossed $28 million at the box office. But according to an interview Brett Ratner did with The Hollywood Reporter, in the six years the movie was in development, it could have had a very, very different cast. Ratner explained that many actors had once been attached to take Charlie Day, Jason Bateman, and Jason Sudeikis' roles—including Ashton Kutcher, Ryan Reynolds, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Johnny Knoxville, and then Ashton Kutcher again.“In this day and age, you need a lot of patience if you are in the movie business,” Ratner explained. “But I think it’s been well worth the wait. From the beginning, I knew it was a great concept.”
This has me curious: was anyone else ever slated for Jennifer Aniston's role as the sadistic, sexually harassing dentist?
