“God Willing” (2010)

Last but not least, this documentary is about "The Church" (also known as The Brotherhood), a group that, since 1971, has indoctrinated hundreds of people into following messianic leader Jim Roberts, who offers their only ticket to salvation. "God Willing" looks at how members of The Church "live together in austere, separatist, communal groups, preaching salvation and damnation, and turning their backs on the outside world ... [and] observe strict ascetic values and rigid standards of dress, presentation and gendered behavior, and live off of discarded food and other refuse." The film also focuses on the families of these cult members, who must be cautious in their attempts to pull them out of the cult's clutches, or risk losing them forever.
