Comedian Jim Carrey might act goofy on-camera, but he told an interviewer that his performances sprang from desperation to make his sick mother happy and that he has always suffered from depression. Carey said, “I was on Prozac for a long time… There are peaks, there are valleys. But they’re all kind of carved and smoothed out, and it feels like a low level of despair you live in.” Carrey eventually got off the Prozac and tries to be careful about his body now: “I rarely drink coffee. I’m very serious about no alcohol, no drugs. Life is too beautiful.” [CBS News]
