Kylie Minogue has been killing it lately, but we’re not sure if anyone but her could pull off this wild-looking leather fringe jacket. Still, she kind of aces it with the not-too-precious gray bag, restrained black boots, whatevs hairstyle and T-shirt underneath. Lesson learned: If you’re going to wear some crazy-ass “fashion!” item, keep the rest of your look simple. Do we like? [London, 9/2/09] Keep reading »
Madonna‘s teen daughter Lourdes supposedly appears in the second version of the video for “Celebration” dressed as her mum circa the “Like A Virgin” days. But apparently this is not the first time Madge’s mini-me has taken part in the infamous song. During Madonna’s oh-so scandalous performance of the hit at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards — you know, the one where she frenched Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera? — a then six-year-old Lourdes played a flower girl. Cuteness or kind of weird? [Daily Mail] Keep reading »
Katherine Heigl, who you may remember bad-mouthed her employers on “Letterman” earlier this summer when she complained about doing 17-hour work days on the set of “Grey’s Anatomy,” will be taking a five-episode hiatus from the show this season. Might the hiatus be related to her late-night comment? Well, higher-ups certainly weren’t happy with her behavior. During the Television Critics Association summer press tour, ABC President Stephen McPherson said this about Heigl’s comments: “I think it’s unfortunate. It’s not something I think you want to let consume you or your people because it is what it is. People are going to behave in the way they choose to behave.” Heigl also made waves last year when she withdrew her name from Emmy consideration because she didn’t feel the material she worked with deserved an award. So is this sudden five-episode hiatus a way for the show’s creators to transition Heigl off without making a big to-do? Keep reading »
I can’t get within 100 feet of a lingerie store without some ho chasing me down with a tape measure trying to tell me I’m wearing the wrong size bra. Girl, I got plenty o’ cleavage thanks to some French lace engineers. But these brassiere peddlers are always quick to point out the flaps on the back. They blame the visual blight on my bad bra, as it must be pinching me to cause that unsightly bulge. Gee, I really appreciate your concern, but actually, I have back fat, rolls, or as my boy bestie calls them, “back titties.” They are permanent. I’ve had them since I was a baby butterball, and they have been a constant source of insecurity. So thanks, shop girl, for pointing them out with disapproval.
OK, I know, she’s just doing her job. And I don’t really care what some undergarment gal thinks of my blubbery love handles. But I have to admit, I really care what someone who finds the front of me sexy will think when he gets a good look at my back.

It was bound to happen. The tabloid news story which has littered the covers of our favorite celeb weekly glossies is now getting even smuttier. “Jon & Kate F**k Eight” will be released by porn company Devil’s Film on Sept. 14 and, strangely enough, it will put a somewhat positive spin on the bitter divorce battle between Jon and Kate Gosselin. “In our movie they go to marriage counseling and come out with the suggestion that maybe they should go out there and bang other people,” explains Devil’s Film sales manager Steve Volpini. “So they do and then it turns out that after they sow their wild oats that they are meant to be together.” How romantic! The movie stars Riley Evans as Kate, Frankie Young as Jon, and Amy Starz, Evie Delatosso, Kristy West, Ashton Pierce, Ralph Long, Jenner, and Alex Gonz in various, er, supporting roles. Body Magic isn’t just a $140 corset/girdle combo that claims it’ll help you “drop 3 sizes in 10 minutes.” Nope, it’s also the newest answer to Avon, promising the (mainly) women who peddle them that they can earn big bucks without the constraints of an office job. Since it’s creation in 1991, Ardyss International, the company that makes Body Magic, has signed on more than 100,000 active distributers to hawk their underwear, nutrition, and skin care products—and the grand majority of their sellers are black and Latina woman. Just as Mary Kay is booming in the recession, Ardyss has seen its business has skyrocket. In the past six month, they claim to have grown 600 percent.
CNN reporter Jessica Ravitz recently headed to an Ardyss convention in Atlanta, which more than 3,000 people attended. “They say money doesn’t grow on trees,” said a speaker. “Well, I’ve got a money tree in my backyard, and Ardyss planted it there!” Keep reading »
