Portia De Rossi’s Ex-Husband Left Her For Her Sister-In-Law

“[My brother] had married his longtime girlfriend, Renee, just before leaving Australia and the two newlyweds moved into an apartment in the same Melrose Place-style complex that was home to me and [my husband] Mel. … The fact that Renee would wear skimpy, lacy underwear clearly visible underneath her oversized, gaping overalls should have indicated to my brother and me that a personal partnership was also forming, but when Mel left me and Renee suddenly sabotaged her marriage to my brother to be with Mel, [my] brother and I were left idiotically scratching our heads in disbelief. … My brother moved in to my place. … We kept each other company and we liked to go out for margaritas and Mexican food to commiserate.”

Portia de Rossi divulges in her book, Unbearable Lightness, that before she was Mrs. DeGeneres, she was married to a man named Mel Metcalfe from 1996 to 1999, and that he eventually left her for her sister-in-law. Wow, I hope someone is optioning this twisted tale as we speak. We’re just glad there’s a happy ending. [Huffington Post] Keep reading »

11 Famous Ladies Who Love Motorcycles

Kate Hudson learned how to ride a motorcycle for the movie “How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days,” which I totally watched for the first time on cable the other week. “I can ride a motorcycle,” she said. “I learned on a Yamaha, the little dirt bikes, then I went on to a Harley. It was really heavy but the stunt coordinator Jack Gill showed up with a pink Harley and I went, ‘That’s great!’ I learned how to drive that. Then when I got on the Triumph for this film, it was so much lighter that I actually could really drive it. I love riding motorcycles.” [A Girl World]

Today’s Lady News: Bill O’Reilly Sees No Media “Gender Bias” Against Sarah Palin

  • Bill O’Reilly said on “The O’Reilly Factor” last Thursday that he did not see any gender bias in the media’s coverage of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann. Palin herself has said the media’s treatment of her has been sexist at times. You know, this actually makes me feel a little bad for these two women: it must suck to have a man from your side of the aisle be dismissive of the B.S. you go through. [Daily Caller]
  • Rep. Gabrielle Giffords may be out of the hospital on Friday, her husband has said. Her next stop will be a rehabilitation center in Texas to overcome injuries from the gunshot wound to the head she sustained during the mass shooting in Tucson, Arizona, two weeks ago. We wish her a swift recovery. [MSNBC]
