12 Lightening Fast Celebrity Rebounds

Last Thursday, Ashley Greene and Joe Jonas‘ reps confirmed that they were no longer dating. The next day, Ashley was spotted out celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with Jared Followill, the hot Kings of Leon bassist who Miley Cyrus supposedly has a crush on. “Ashley was smiling all night,” a source said. “She and Jared were close the whole night. Dancing, talking, flirting. Was pretty clear they were into each other.” Wow, I am impressed. It took Ashley less than 24 hours to find a new piece of musically-inclined arm candy. [People]

Is it just me, or do celebrities seem to bounce back much quicker than regular people from breakups? After the jump, some lightening fast rebounds in recent memory.

Kate Walsh Feels Like A Loser For Not Having Kids

“I feel like a loser [for not having kids]. I would definitely love to be a parent, but I definitely don’t think I want to do it on my own… I thought I’d be married and have three or four kids. I always knew I wanted to be an actress, but I think I always wanted a quote-unquote normal life.”

—Kate Walsh, aka Addison Shepard of “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Private Practice” shares that, at 43, she feels like she’s missed out on having a family. I would normally insert a joke here, but this quote depressed me so much that I got nothing besides, we love you, Kate, and appreciate your honesty. [People]

If you thought pole-dancing died when Miley Cyrus got on the pole, you were wrong. The true death knell is Pole Fitness For Jesus, a pole-dancing class for good Christian ladies in the sleepy town of Old Spring Town, Texas. The women in the Pole Fitness For Jesus class strut in high heels and body roll to uplifting Christian music — not because they’re trying to be sexy, mind you, but because they are honoring their body as a temple. “God gives us these bodies and they are suppose to be our temples and we are suppose to take care of them and that’s what we are doing,” explained Crystal Dean, a pole-dancing instructor, who rightfully points out that judging others for pole dancing is not very Christian. In fact, the few students in the free classes, which meets two Sundays a month, attest they feel a “spiritual connection” on the pole. Hey, whatever makes you feel closer to God — as long as you’re not hurting anybody — is fine with this Christian. Just ask yourself: what would Mary Magdalene do? [KTRK] Keep reading »

Girl Talk: My Fiancé’s Terrible Secret

We met on Myspace. He emailed me the day after my birthday, introducing himself and complimenting my smile; I was charmed. I also happened to be single, alone and slightly adrift in a foreign country so our correspondence needed no fanning to burst into something heated and volatile. Three weeks later, I was on board a train from London to Manchester, England to meet him. By that point, even if he’d turned out to have a flesh-eating disease or a penchant for hardcore porn, I probably still would have been smitten. Keep reading »

The Strokes Rub Another One Out

I can remember where I was the first time I heard The Strokes’ debut, Is This It. It was the summer of 2001, and I’d just procured a fake ID in Times Square. I felt hugely relieved when I handed it to the bouncer at a graffiti-covered Lower East Side bar and he didn’t rip it in half. The energy of the album perfectly encapsulated the moment—pure, effervescent, gritty fun undercut with just a dose of disillusionment. I don’t know if The Strokes will ever be able to recapture the magic of that album, but I will give them a chance every time they release a new one. With Angles—their first album in five years—the boys have returned to their original sound. Or at least to the extent you can when you’re older and presumably wiser.

Perhaps Chris Brown‘s anger management classes aren’t going so well. This morning, the performer and his newly blonde hair were scheduled for an interview and performance on “Good Morning America.” When Robin Roberts asked him about Rihanna, he said, “It’s not really a big deal to me now. I think I’m past that in my life. Today is the album, so everybody go get that album.” From there, Chris supposedly stormed off the set and starting screaming in his dressing room so loudly that hair and makeup called security.

And it allegedly got way worse. Keep reading »
