Liberty Of London, The Makeup Version?

Courtesy MAC

Everyone’s currently obsessing over Target’s Liberty of London collection, so it was awfully clever of MAC to launch their new Give Me Liberty of London makeup collection yesterday (a few days before Target’s March 14th launch—zing!). Inspired by London’s Carnaby Street, “the unstudied, Sienna Miller style of Spitalfields Market to the grit and glamour of Portobello Road,” and “the swinging London girl,” the collection features candy-colored eye shadows, white and cornflower blue Nail Lacquer (the latter of which is sold out already—what gives!?), all manner of spring pink lippies and gorgeous floral makeup bags plus a limited-edition scarf. Should go perfectly with all the gear we’ll rack up at Target. Check out more images from the collection (available here), after the jump.

Jennifer Aniston Tries To Bring Back The Belly Tee

Jennifer Aniston belly shirt

Three sartorial questions for Jennifer Aniston here: One, are you seriously wearing a belly tee, dude? We haven’t seen one of those since Britney Spears (and you) wore them all over the place in the ‘90s. Two, is that scarf choking you? Three, if it’s that cold, shouldn’t you just use the scarf to cover up your mid-section? Just askin’, Jen, just askin’. [London, 3/10/10]

Alexander McQueen’s Final Collection

Alexander McQueen final show

Yesterday, a handful of fashion editors were treated to a private showing of Alexander McQueen‘s fall collection, a mix of Hieronymus Bosch and other great artist-inspired prints that, as Suzy Menkes put it, embodied “the designer’s exceptional reach from historic past to cyberspace future.” The models wore mystical-looking golden mohawks, the shoes were outrageous, and of course, the couture-quality clothes were absolutely transcendent. If you’d like to see the 16 looks up close—and you should, the level of detail is insane—click on their hyper zoom-friendly slideshow. [New York Times]

It’s Nice When A Collaboration Doesn’t Suck

Blachblack/Urban Outfitters rings

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free of lame collaboration overload. Kristin Reiter and Valerie Killeen, aka Bleachblack, have joined forces with Urban Outfitters once again to bring us some super cool, highly covetable new rings that we could actually envision perched on our fingers. “The branch ring is modeled after my mother’s treasured faux-bois wedding ring from 1975,” Killeen states in the press release. What the hell is a faux-bois ring you ask? It’s French for “false wood.” (I knew a guy who had that once.) Pick these babies up at Urban later this month.

10 Sexy Stars Who Went From Blond To Brunette

Blonde to Brunette Starlets

Stop the presses: America’s little blond sweetheart Katherine Heigl has dyed her hair! (Actually, we never bought Katherine’s Goody-Two shoes act. She always says such catty things in interviews, and she’s always photographed drinking and smoking.)

Blond and busty always sells in Hollywood, but some starlets take a risk and go dark to add edge, get attention from the paparazzi, or—because they’re just like us!—just ‘cause they need a change. Click through for more celebs who stepped over to the dark(er) side.

Hair Model Citizen: Punk Rock Strawberry Blonde

Micky Green

Now, this is not a hair color that we would normally advocate. It’s a little red, a little blond, and the cut itself is all over the place. That said, Micky Green is an Australian pop star making an appearance at the Chanel show, so when it comes to being the right hair on the right person in the right place, Micky’s got it down. To get the look, bleach hair out, layer strawberry blonde dye on top, and rinse out in a totally random, haphazard way. [Paris, 3/9/10]

12 Sexy Famous Bald Ladies

Famous Bald Starlets

After we recently spotted a bald model opening Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai, we started thinking about how many a famous lady has shaved her head through the years, yet it’s still somewhat shocking to see a woman rocking the look. Click through for 12 celebs who pulled it off, Britney possibly excluded.

Now That’s An Afro

Galliano Ready To Wear

This gigantic piece appeared atop a model’s head at Galliano’s “Ready to Wear” show, but we beg to differ. Besides, we would say the hair is wearing the model, and not the other way around. [Paris, 3/7/10]

Trend Spotting: Metallics Rule At Paris Fashion Week

Balmain Fall 2010

The big takeaway from the French collections? Lots of shine. There was a stunning silver suit at Balenciaga, gold dresses and jackets at Dries Van Noten, a gorgeous shift woven with silver metallic threads by Martine Sitbon and Giles Deacon presented flashy pants and prom dresses. Sadly, it’s hard to do less-expensive metallic looks without looking, well, cheap, but expect the trend to shimmy down to the Urban Outfitters and American Apparels of the world soon. A great way to trick out this trend without looking like Ziggy Stardust? Accessorize with a metallic bag or belt.
