Winter is about gray and drab colors. But it doesn’t have to be thanks to these Pantone-themed tin boxes. Add some color to your life with these handy and decorative items. Stack ‘em up to make a rainbow! Or stock up on them and use them as your holiday packaging (far more eco-friendly than wrapping paper).

I have a soft spot for rom-coms, and since two of my favorite actors, Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, are the stars of “Love and Other Drugs,” I’ll definitely be taking in a matinee over the Thanksgiving weekend. In the previews, I was struck by the expansive loft that Maggie, Anne Hathaway’s character, calls home. Luckily, I was able to track down some set design photos of the space, along with film stills that showcase the loft. Let’s take a tour! Read more … Keep reading »
I can’t help but wonder how Carrie Bradshaw would be living today with all of this talk about recession, stimulus packages and financial woes. Would her apartment be just as fabulous, or would she forgo the updates and spend her hard-earned cash on more shoes?
I’d hope her apartment would stay just as chic as when production designer Jeremy Conway and set decorator Lydia Marks first laid hands on the glamorous interior. So I took it upon myself to recreate the look of her superstar bedroom — on a major budget. I like to call this the “Recession-Friendly Bradshaw Abode.” Read more … Keep reading »
This holiday weekend, we’ll be getting our Christmas tree up. Yay! But gurl, just because we like some traditions, doesn’t mean we want our 5-foot fir looking like everyone else’s. So, this year, we’re skipping bland plastic balls and grabbing a bunch of bad ass handmade ceramic ornaments by Edwards Pottery AKA Etsy seller HeartherLEdwards123. Our fave are these skull and cross bone cuties. Plus, she’s also crafted awesome owls, adorable kittens, and bitchin’ bones. But the best part is, after the holidaze, you can still show off these super cool ceramic pieces by wearing them as a statement necklace. Bonus!
You know we’re huge “Mad Men” fans here, so we were truly excited to read your favorite quips from the resident silver fox of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, Roger Sterling, Jr. Thank you for taking us on a short trip down “Mad Men” memory lane and for providing your insight into the character. Find out who won a copy of Sterling’s Gold: Wit and Wisdom of an Ad Man by Roger Sterling after the jump. Keep reading »
As the holidays approach, we all start thinking about that favorite moment spent with friends and family, the meal you’re most looking forward to eating, the gifts you are most looking forward to giving (and let’s be honest, receiving), and the traditions that come along with all of it. This year, we want to be a part of your favorite family moment and would love a sneak peek via Flickr or YouTube. Show us how you celebrate the holidays with your family and friends — whether it’s a video of all the cooks in the kitchen, opening holiday gifts, or playing in the snow. And you could win a $1,000 gift giving shopping spree on Nautica.com for your efforts.
A cup of tea is supposed to be calm and relaxing, but not when you spend half the time fishing your tea bag out of the cup only to tie a wet string around the handle (which inevitably comes undone, too). Try this instead: the Tie Tea Cup by George Lee, which features a simple (but so well-thought-out) design that allows you to securely anchor your tea string to the lip of your mug. So much more relaxing.

We heard bits and pieces of Sterling’s Gold: Wit and Wisdom of an Ad Man by Roger Sterling, Jr. on the last season of “Mad Men.” We didn’t think we’d be able to read Roger’s book, especially since he couldn’t get any publishers to bite. But he’s quite the character and is known for his quips and quick-wit barbs, so we think Sterling’s Gold would provide insight into the ad world and business, in general, as well as a look into upper middle-class life in New York during the 1950s and 1960s.
