Woman Charged With Murdering Her Sugar Daddy After Making It Look Like a Break In
Poisonous arm candy
SeekingArrangement is a popular dating site these days. Unlike more open services like OKCupid or Tinder, it’s schtick is pairing sugar babies up with sugar daddies. That type of relationship is becoming more and more popular as college women are trying to find a way to pay for the ever increasing costs of higher education.
But this wasn’t the case for Jennifer Lynn Morrissey, 33. She wasn’t trying to better herself with education, she just wanted to be pampered. She found her sugar man in 64-year-old Michael McNew, a pharmaceutical executive. She left her life of being a stripper and motorcycle mechanic to kick up her heels on McNew’s dime.
Morrissey and McNew dated and lived together for two years. McNew not only financially supported his younger girlfriend, but was very generous with gifts and even payed court fees for a number of legal issues from her past.
Eventually the situation soured for McNew. He tried to break up with his sugar baby, but without him she would not have the wealthy lifestyle she had grown accustomed to. That was a prospect she wasn’t willing to face.
When McNew was found shot to death in house on August 8, 2017, all signs pointed to his ex. Authorities recovered deleted texts from that day. McNew wrote that he was packing up some of her things, but that she was to not come by. Morrissey responded with: “Get the gun ready cause I’m coming. I already told you that I’ll be there tonight… guess your [sic] just gonna have to shoot me. I’m gonna stab ya.”
All signs point to yes
McNew’s body was found two days later with a gunshot wound to the head, police say. They claim that Morrissey tried to make the murder look like a break in.
She is said to have buried McNew’s phone and laptop in her new boyfriend’s yard. Morrissey even messaged McNew on Facebook to cover her tracks.
Morrissey was arrested soon after, on an unrelated charge, but she blabbed to her cellmate while in custody that she had accidentally murdered her former sugar daddy and later came back to the crime scene to make it look like a robbery. Other informants came forward with more damning information. She was charged with criminal homicide, tampering or fabricating evidence, and possessing an instrument of crime. Morrissey goes back to court on December 8.
The saying is “never trust a pretty face.” Maybe that’s because behind some beautiful faces, you’ll find a cold blooded killer who values cash before human life.
